The biostation has been pretty cool. I've been seeing birds I have never seen before, which means I have also identified them properly. Plants are more tricky though.

At the moment Simon and I have a jumping mouse problem. We've caught it twice in one day and let it run off into the woods, but it keeps coming back to our pantry. If it would stop making noise at 4:30 in the morning I'd be fine with it, but he lives somewhere in our metal stove and drops food, poops and himself on the metal drip catcher, which resonates through the whole stove. Speaking of, it would appear as though it's been living here for a while--the drip catch was completely full of poops and mint candy wrappers. He also ate my spearmint gum. Must be self-conscious about bad breath. We've got a box all made up for it, with veggies and stuff to hide in, but he could probably get out of it pretty easily. I mean he can traverse the guts a building well enough. According to the story linked above, they're pretty persistent. I'm not so sure I want an eagle in my stove.
