Marian, carryon.

Last night Greg and I went shopping. I was asked to reach some milk that was all the way in the back by some short people. About 5 minutes later this elderly woman asked me to reach some cereal for her. There was some confusion, and Greg got it for her. Then, her back went out.

Long story long, Greg and I stayed with her for about 30 minutes and helped her shop. Then, Greg had to take off so Ben could start dinner. I stayed with her for about an hour and a half more and walked her home. She couldn't stand for more than 5 minutes without excruciating pain, so I carried this little footstool around the store for her. Marian can learn languages on the bus, and she invites me to tea. She talked to every single person we saw on the way home, sometimes speaking short phrases in perfect Hebrew or Arabic. Being English herself, it was fun, though I was starving. She told this really pretty Bangladeshian girl of 21 years of age that I was 'husband material' and that she had 'picked me up' because she gave me her phone number. It's only for tea!

Anyway, it was crazy, and I intend to have tea. At 80 years old, she has the same questions and doubts about religion and racism that I do. We sang Johnny Cash while we walked.

ugh, i'm such an aimless, boy scout.

That sounds like an awesome time! I'm jealous. I loved the voicemail I got from you. I was at the gym pumping iron lol. I'm sad I missed your call though, you sounded like you were having a great time. I'll keep an eye out for my postcard.

Ben--you called! Sandi and Ryan Jurado and I were rocking out and were delighted to receive the call. You were talking about this band that did covers and got a lot of money. You were plotting a plot for elodea after hearing this. We too would do covers and then make money and then use the money to produce our own stuff. It was hard to hear, but I got the main points! You kept apologizing!

HEY! I got your postcard today! And your voicemail. I was napping! I wish I could call you back but for some reason it doesn't let me dial out the number you called from. Oh well, it's pretty late there now anyway...but it is a Friday. The Royal Mail slot works so no worries, mate.
